I'd fish at night time with a live mullet or salmon out for bait, waiting for hours on the off chance ... but probably that's just me.

I've seen a 60+cm flatty taken of the pier on an SP by the fella that used to run the warneet tackle shop. And I know that jewies haunt that area too if a skilled tactition were to target them. The tide can move through there pretty quick and make fishing a bit challenging so I'd recommend focusing on the hour before and after slack water.

For mullet they hang close to the bottom so play around with float depth. I catch them without floats too

The 2nd lightest ones from kmart, those black ones with the red tip. But anytime should work really as long as its light
