Nice work
Bent Minnows work a treat on the EP.
Cheers mate have been meaning to purchase a few bent minnows. Having such a good bite allowed me to test the effectiveness of a few different lures even if it cost me fish it didn’t matter.
A cheaper lure that i have had success on lately has been the zerek popper.

in Charteruse tiger.
The pink headed bent is awesome for all estuary work

There is always more to learn , fish to catch , places to see and friends to make.

EPs can be a frustrating fish but when you get onto a good bite it can be mayhem.

EPs on surface, that's something to be proud of. Not a lot of people catching EPs on surface.
One good fishing day is all needed to wash previous fruitless trips.
Then repeat.
Nice stuff!
I would suggest throwing surface more often, eps are generally pretty keen for a surface feed and the way they hit is pretty awesome.

Interesting, they're not too far off Aussie bass then 'ey.
I caught small EP on dry fly in karkarook believe it or not, I was targetting trouts obviously. Thought it was just an unusual bi catch.
Do they bite surface all year round? Or more summer autumn thing?

The EPs in other lakes take bugs off the top when there's a few about, I find them easier to get on larger noisier lures but they were taking more subtle options.
They'll hit surface year round but I find it's easier to get them over the warmer months.

Great report seb, a photo or 2 would be nice, but, I understand
When I have a (another) fishless day, I'll remember this post and dream of what might have been. I'll then rap my rod around a tree and break it into small pieces.
Cheers Gra

Thanks mazman, but how big and noisy are we talking about? Jackall pompadour junior big and loud? or bent minnow big?
Albert Park sounds like a good practice ground and/or Devilbend.

I generally fish around the 60-70mm mark for walkers or 40mm for cicadas but have caught fish on bigger

Thanks!
I have small jitterbug and some storm/berkley WTD walkers, shall give them a try, maybe Albert Park. Maybe a bit late in the season but oh well.
