Beaches and wind direction.

Post by April Fool » Thu May 23, 2019 8:55 pm

Hi all
At times I see different threads asking what wind direction suits a particular beach. Obviously a northerly wind on a particular day may suit one beach and not another etc. Is there a general idea as to what is the best conditions for any beach as in are you looking for offshore or onshore winds? In regards to wind speed, is there an ideal speed?

Last but not least, I guess the term back beaches is in reference to the ocean beaches as opposed to the bay beaches? Does the wind matter with the bay beaches?
Thanks in advance.

I have a Surf Guru , , , , mate Don. I listen to everything he says AND we do well.

We go to Salt Creek. Don swears by NE winds, offshore. Mainly because it makes fishing easier. You can't catch if you can't get your bait out to where the fish are. Onshore winds there just dirties up everything and hard to fish.

We are into enjoying the fishing, which offshore winds allows, rather than fighting with your gear, the weather, the conditions just to catch a fish.

Cheers, Bugatti
