I have a theory on air pressure. If there is a chance I can go fishing between kids, family, work, etc then I check the air pressure. If there is some I go fishing.

Works for me

Kind of reminds me about my theory with beer.

If it's wet, I drink it.

Yes baro might have an impact in fishing, but there's also other variables we don't know of.
The data to be captured must have all aspects and variables, baro alone isn't enough for me.

E.g. few good trips in increasing baro doesn't set the standard, as increasing baro with low tide mid day might not be as good as increasing baro with incoming tide during sunset.

If we only go fishing when everything is aligned, don't think I can ever go fishing.

I know many spots where I fish where the wind direction is the most important factor. You get that wrong and I don’t know why but everything shuts down.

My understanding is that you want a few days of stable barometric pressure, regardless of what the barometer reading is. When the barometer starts to drop the fish sense bad weather coming and get in a quick feed while they can.

I dont know about all that though, the only thing i know for sure is that i wont catch anything if im not on the water.

It can make a big difference as others have mentioned it's not the only thing you need to pay attention to wind, tide and moon phases can also effect fishing.

Would not profess to be an authority on the matter but have found rapidly rising barometers good fishing as well as before it plummets when a coastal front is coming.
