Underwater at Mornington pier

Post by eddyt » Sun Dec 15, 2019 10:02 pm

Hi all

Here's a video under Mornington pier. Sea stars, hundreds of gobies, a stingray cruising with its baby and lots of other interesting fish.

I've done some cutting and editing this time so hopefully it's more stable.

Oh, and the fishing - donuts... Only caught a few small pinkies. Some guys were catching yakkas and tommies with a float, saw 1 salmon caught, but not much else around today.

Just had a bit of a think about it and I think you could increase the stability by making some form of housing so that there's a heavy weight on the bottom. Would mean that it can only spin around without moving up and down

Braver then me so far with dropping a camera down, are you just using some rope and the housing or how is it tied so you dont lose it?

Also invest in a red filter it should bring back alot of the color.

Nice footage - always to get an underwater perspective.
If you lower it on two ropes rather than one it will stablize it further.

If anyone knows how to add a red filter on one of those aftermarket housings (not a supersuit), let me know!
