Useless information.

Post by Wolly Bugger » Fri Mar 11, 2011 5:03 pm

The other day I became aware of useless information, For starters we hooked and landed a gummy.

We were using 5/0 Black magic circles. (Useless information hooks could have been any style or brand from 1/0-6/0)

Sinker was about 3 oz, (not really useless, needed to keep the bait on the botto)

30lb leader (didn't really matter could have been heavier or lighter)

Bait (important) we were using squid, salmon and trev, I think it took the salmon.

Rod 10' but it could have been any length.

Reel, Shimano baitrunner, not really important.

Back with 18lb braid,

Fish, sharks don't care about what rod you are using, whether it is a Woolies special or a Wilson, they dont care about what type of line you are using, or reel, they dont even care about what colour your hair is.

The point is, if the bait/lure is not where the fish are and is something they want to eat, nothing else is going to catch them for you.

You could have two identical setups, where one was catching fish and the other wasn't even lossing a bait. If the bait ain't where the fish are, it is not going to catch fish.

Probably the most important was that we were using a running sinker rig, with the leader about soo long. But then none of the rods had another touch nor did we have any other bites on the rod that caught the gummy on.

Two possibilities existed, one there were no more fish in the vicinity, or they weren't interested in what we were using for bait.
