Port fairy tuna still around?

Post by mattyc » Thu Jul 03, 2014 10:27 am

Hi Guys,

Heading to Port Fairy for one last crack at the bluefin. Any news whether they are still in close? They were very finicky last time and wouldnt take x-raps or skirts. A mate of mine suggest small micro uzi's and also another lure called a " cedar plug". Ordered them from overseas but said they are deadly on the tuna over there. Will give a report whether they work or not.

Cheers,
Matt

I have not heard any reports locally since the storms. There have been fish caught in close in last few days at portland so you would've thought they would be about of port fairy. When are you planning your trip

They where like that last season or the one before at Portland, plenty of dolphins around keeping them lower in the water column and they wouldn't touch the lures, the second day out i purchased a similar lure and it produced when all other didn't. Only managed 2 fish though
Here fishy fishy.......
