April, Portland, BFT

April is when Portland has its Hooked On Tuna competition. Last year we hooked an unknown express train that was not stopping and the leader parted as I attempted to catch it in the boat. I found the fishing tough with no tuna landed, whilst others did very well.

So who is heading there this year?

Besides it is a good excuse to go fishing.

Was going to start a new topic but this is relevant so may as well keep it here.

Yesterday over 20 Jumbo Tuna were weighed in at Portland a couple of fish were landed a few days prior in less than ideal conditions offshore.
Considering keeping an eye on the forecast and heading down there if circumstances allow will wait and see.

I am spewing that I am taking holidays at the end of April and not the beginning. I also did not realise that the second last weekend was Easter. Accommodation proved not to be an issue as it was easy to book.

If I could get out there now I would. Hopefully the barrels stay close for you.

Inside info is to be prepared to loose fish due to dingbats running over lines.
People are inviting each other into their boats to have a punch up.
Good luck to whoever is going..take some extra ammo just in case....
Yep... Ziad Mesto(for those that don't know the bloke with the pimped out Westgate Metals Camcraft with twin Honda's...)put up a video on sookbook of some idiot running over one of their fish. Fair to say ***** been hektik down there this week bro

That’s a disgrace ruins the enjoyment of the sport. People should respect others space those on a fish should get on the radio to warn boats nearby to keep a respectable distance and others should adhere. If people need to resort to threats and violence to settle grievances they shouldn’t be out there. Take up mma.
