Can anyone recommend a method which will target toadies? What’s the best bait, rig etc. Keen to beat my toady PB...

I’ve found they really enjoy pippie paired with the tail of bluebait. I know it might sound weird, but they love it. My uncle had a massive one on the day but it got off!

Toadies are Scavengers and can be found in the shallows around sand and weed/reef. They will feed off the bottom and up higher in the water column so set a spread a bait on the bottom, midway up the water column and one on the surface so you can get the occasional boof. Pippies and Squid are the go to baits on whiting hooks. Good luck...

Berley up. Wait for one to swim past. Gaff it. No need to even take a rod.

You need to carefully select your moon phases when fishing for toadies, watch for a full moon, and aim for the temprature breaks, with a degree or two difference.
Burley hard, and make sure the moon is in front of you as you cast.
