Myrtleford and district sports fishing club

Post by Slipper1 » Tue Apr 14, 2015 9:51 am

Hi guys. I've been asked to help out with the the fishing clubs Facebook page to get a bit more traffic and hopefully some interest in our events.....
I was more than happy to help out and as there will hopefully be some good info about the area I thought folks on here might like to heck it out......

The club had heaps of keen as fisho's with endless knowledge of the area which they're more than happy to share. The club leases a plot of land on the shore of lake buffalo where it holds fishing comps and camping trips some weekends. It's also available for day use by club members (cheap membership fees $25)

Anyway, jump over for a look and please like and share the page.

There certainly is some great areas to fish! How is the Ovens going for trout at the moment? Or are Murray cod the target around Myrtleford?
cheers

Yeah we've got good fishing in every direction.....
Not a lot of people fish the ovens at myrtleford for trout surprisingly (up near bright is a bit more popular) but it does hold a few trout. A lot of the trout fishing has been slow the last couple of years and especially in the lower sections of the system. There's been some ripper cod fishing to be had though which is starting to slow down with the cold weather. Time to settle into lake fishing this time of year for me.
