Lakes entrance flatties

Post by Hosery » Tue Nov 07, 2017 11:06 am

My plan this cup weekend was to give offshore a flogging well the winds weren't to kind. Sunday being the pick of the days I headed out nice and early. Crossed the bar at 4.30 and headed down the pipeline with intentions of getting stuck into a big red.
Long story short sounded up some nice fish but had some anchor issues and couldn't stay on the fish. So unfortunately drifting was the order of the day.
Quickly changed to plan b and headed out a little way for some flatties. First drop a double header things started looking up. Fished till about 11 than pulled the pin with a good feed of flatties for the table. Would of liked a big red but I'll take flatties for the table any day!

Yeah tiger flathead are the orange ones with the pointy nose. I'm no expert but I say all the others are sand flathead. All taste good that's what matters. Occasionally out there get a different one that's dark and lots harder to skin.

Yeah I had a mate with me. I'm not that stupid. Got to have someone to help with cleaning fish and gear etc anyways.
