purple never been done by one i use a little tool called a priest as soon as landed quick measure then bang straight between the eyes done and there so easy to fillet

Same here rarely get spiked. We just use a old towel on the boat. Makes them easy to grab and can't spike you through the towel. Comes in handy for heaps of things

Or just use a dehooker and then leave them in the eski for a hr while you drive back and retieve the boat and they are dead
