Maribyrnong river
G'day fisho's. Just moved to the area near Edgewater lake/Highpoint. I've seen a few people fish locally in the river and wondering what they'd be targeting? Also what would be the ideal spots along the Maribyrnong river?
Cheers, Jerry

Re: Maribyrnong river
Spotted a barra about a month back. Didn't want to take a lure though. Have to know the right stretch of river and when they're "in season" lol.
I know you think I'm crazy

Re: Maribyrnong river
There is a good spot where edge water lake enters the river. Not exactly a secret spot though. You can catch bream, pinkies or other depending on whether there has been a fresh water flush recently or not.

Re: Maribyrnong river
The barra are very poor condition - I wouldn't bother chasing them but if you want to catch one....
Google "tsethar"
And then have a think which stretch of river they turn up in....
I flogged a lure at one for ten minutes. Eventually figured it was dead... Walked up to it on the bank (it was holding on the shallows) got about 3 foot from it and leant over to take a picture ....... And it swam off lol.
Not the strangest thing I've seen - but it's definitely up there.
