Some recent carp culls @ Lilydale Lake

Post by simon2g » Fri Mar 18, 2016 8:32 am

Been busting carp a bit, haven't put the photos up till now.

This one went close to 57-58CM and was a bloody bull. Took me a long time to get in, as the net I had was veryyy average. Had that net for when I go trout fishing, not carp

I wasn't able to grab a measurement on this fella, it looks a similar size im guessing maybe 55CM. I could measure my rod/shoe.

I took the Mrs down there one morning aswell after I had some success thinking I'd get her onto something and get her excited about fishing; she was excited alright, her rod had constant action but she wasn't able to hook up. I wanted to help her hook then she could reel, but she is a determined woman to catch it herself. She will learn

When we were there I got 3 crucian carp, and another carp which she has all the photos of.

Here are some photo's of the crucian's

Small crucians, but I've noticed when Im pulling in a few of them - shortly after a big carp follows.

Some nice work there - are you getting these from the main lake or the lead in/out streams?

Yep, netted it's head first haha. My other net was broken with holes at the time, heading to get a new one today.
This is outta one of the ponds, to the left of the main lake.
