It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

I cooked it up for the grandparents a little while ago.

The flesh was white when cooked, unlike the ones I caught last year at Blue Rock which were pink. I cooked this one the same way as the others and I reckon the pink fleshed trout tasted better.

Yes, I can see your point in dragging the Yak up a steep incline.. That would be enough to make me think twice about going back too.. It's always worse after you've had a few hours on the water, get back tired and then have to take the Yak uphill... :( Not good at all, would be even worse on a hot day too..

cheers

Cheers. I might give yabbies a go as bait next time I head to Blue Rock if that is what they've been feeding on. Should work ok drifted unweighted among the snags.

You can launch your yak just down from the dam wall and yak down to the bridge it's a big day but there's some great fishing spots on the way I done the canoe trail up there years ago always talk about doing it again you might have just inspired me

Take a trout rod, it was great fun flicking lures at the snags as I passed by.
