Eildon tips for around the Easter Break
Hi All
I'm planning a day trip up to Eildon for a fish around the Easter break. It has been close to 30 years since I was last there and am itching to go.
The plan will be to fish the pondage in the morning and the lake in the afternoon.
Can anyone offer any tips for either loaction - land based?
Thanks

Take a "skinny" rod because there may not be enough room to cast a "fat " one, other than that enjoy yourself, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Chris, if you're near eildon, consider a trip to one of the rivers.
Taponga River If you do, jump in where the Eildon-Jamieson Rd crosses the river - google maps road crossing Its skinny water & offers some good fun. The other alternative is to head along the Big River Rd and drop in along the many access points.
Consider any of these to lure or bait fish: article on fly fishing NE Rivers

Re: Eildon tips for around the Easter Break
Ended up spending the day at the pondage and jerusalem Creek.
Morning was on the pondage...plenty of bites but no hook ups.
1-3pm at Jerusalem creek.....saw plenty of fish jumping and quite a few reddies swimming by but still not a bite.
Back to the pondage and managed 4 rainbows in the last half hour before I left.
