Bream session on the Yarra 29th Nov

Post by ChrisD » Thu Nov 30, 2017 8:17 am

Had a quick session on the Yarra, near Morell Bridge, last night hunting up some Bream.
First one hit about 30 seconds after the line hit teh water - was only small..about 20cm....but made for a promising start.
Fished between 7pm and 9pm - ended up landing 5 bream, all between 20cm and 30cm, no monsters. Plenty of bite but just couldn't get the hook ups.
Rowers were a bit of a pain in the early stages, although to be fair they were trying to keep clear of my lines.
Stayed till the bats came in and then gave it away.

It was a nice evening down there - always cooler by the water and by that time the bank and river are covered in shade, so no hot sun to deal with.
Smell of BBQs cooking was making me a tad hungry though.
It is certainly a different environment to fish in compared to fishing the Yarra upstream in the peace and quiet of the bush.
