Goulburn river 0 action

Post by trout-hunter » Thu Sep 06, 2018 2:20 pm

Hey all, i couldn't hit the Goulburn over the weekend so decided to take yesterday off work (Wednesday 5th) i went up to the old quarry up off breakaway rd. I did have my 2 year old daughter with me so it was a slow walk but it was a nice sunny day and the water looked perfect and i was positive we (me) would bring home dinner. Checked every hole with my spotters while keeping a safe distance from the bank and nothing, got to the quarry and set up my daughters rug with her toys before i started flicking my rapala spotted dog. I changed lures (rainbows, brooke trout, spotted dog and browns) nothing, no chases or anything.. after 3 hours of trying every type of fishing we packed up and headed for home.. one of them days that make me want to bin all my gear haha.. dont ya love them days. It makes it all worth while when ya land a nice fat brown.. still a good day though.

Sounds like one of them days mate.
I still like just being out fishing in nature anyway.
Better luck next time

I caught this fish last Friday in Thornton on salmon eggs. Came in at 3.25kg (57cm)

We tried our hardest with lures but the water was way too dirty, bait fishing was the way to go. Not sure about the water quality now.
