Marysville report 8/1/14 (again)
Once again headed up to marysville for a fish, woke up at 7am and left by 7:30, got to marysville about 9 ish and had another go at the lake with high expectations. The lake was dead from 9 to 12 with not even a fish seen ,no bites, nothing. Having no success at the lake, we moved on to Buxton to fish where the three rivers merge, this spot was surprisingly full of people swimming, so just moved ahead to the little Stevenson river. Decided to give the fly rod a go, got to where I was planning to start and straight away spotted what I thought was a rock this big rainbow sitting in the smallest stream. So excited I rushed the cast and straight in the tree :wall: . Good thing I didn't spook the fish just cut the line and retied a new fly, second cast and bang, a great big rainbow. After this fish could not find any others and headed on home.

The fish was actually very dark when it first came, and the pink stripe appeared later. Cleaned the fish and found nothing in the stomach. I don't think its a wild fish probaly from the trout farm.

Going to try Steavenson river for the first time. Can anyone tell me where is the easiest point to start from. It is going to take me 3 hours drive to get there so if anyone can help me it would save me a lot of time in searching for the access to the river.
Thanks guys.

I am not sure where people access the river but I know there is access on the Marysville - Buxton Road.
