Made me laugh too when I noticed the O.P. took almost a year to get a response.
The O.P. location of Murchison is obviously an error.
It's no error, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Well that's strange.
He drops his kids off to school and then goes fishing in the Maribyrnong.
I figured Murchison was somewhere up near Eildon or up North anyway.
I didn't realize it was a suburb of Melbourne.
I best go do me a Google search and get it right.
cheers.

EDIT : I got it right.
What may have happened is the bloke moved from Melbourne to Murchison.
It does happen.

Got up to Lauriston and the wind was quite gusty, blowing straight onshore. As I had my bro with me who prefers his comfort, we moved on to Coliban and found a nice little spot. Out went some yabs and worms, and an hr ticked by without a touch. I decided to tie on a vibe and see if I could rustle anything up. I got 20 or so casts outta it before it turned into another snagged up donation. At about 6-ish the little runts came in and started hammered the scrubbies. I was using a paternoster rig with a yab on the bottom hook, and worms on the higher hook. Each time I brough my lines in to put more worms on, I noticed the bodies of the yabs had been slightly crushed. Usually the runts will eat the legs off them, but crushing them is something new! All in all it was another donut, but it was still good fun just being out there. Was disappointed not to hit Lauriston, but will have to get up there again soon and give it a flogging.
Cheers :)

It sure does. It is true I did live in Melbourne and moved back up to the Country. A lot sure does happen in a year lol.
By the way I ended up fishing the Upper Coliban and have only ever managed to snag Reddies except for the one very poorly conditioned Chinook Salmon below the wall.
