Redhunter wrote:Looks like the skinniest chook I have ever seen. I know Lauriston was stocked with them, but didn't think Coliban was. Based on the amount of food in the system, it's a shock to see something like that. It may have been a fish that swam up the pools during the flood, which then got stuck before it was caught. Due to bloody irrigation, the 3 reservoirs (coliban, lauriston, malmsbury) seem to cop it pretty hard. For example, all 3 reservoirs were overflowing a few months back, and now are dropping rapidly, with Malmsbury now being at 30 odd percent. Shizen hausen management if you ask me.

Yer its a chook in very poor condition .

Afternoon visit to Coliban last weekend with my boys. Forecast was predicting mild wind but it was nothing like it. Wind was blowing so hard and it was difficult to feel bite unless u hold rod in your hand. I had my rod on the ground away from the water and had it twice pulled so very hard. First time by beautifull , very healthy ,40cm brown trout and secound time by 54 cm carp. All cought on worms. My boys had a number of small redies we put back in.

Just to keep the thread updated.

Myself and family tried our hand last weekend. The kids were too noisey to catch anything... but I landed three small trout. All on different soft plastics, brown/black and gold minnow, brown bug and pearl white fish.
