Inverloch - First Squid

Post by Invy » Mon Apr 14, 2014 9:43 pm

Hi all,

I managed to catch my first ever squid the other day. I had a spare 30 mins and had been to rod bendings and picked up a few squid jigs, but never used them, so I popped to the pier and lobbed one out and on my 3rd cast hit into a very nice squid of about 28cm long plus tenticles.

Made an awesome dinner!!!

I will deffo be going again.

Invy I've fished Inverloch heaps of times, mostly at pensioners corner ( local hangout )

but never thought to try for squid ? the pier in the estuary would be the last place I would think squid would hang out..

Hi hornet, you may be right! I went last night at a 9pm high tide and didn't get a sniff! Must have been 15 of us on the pier and only saw 1 little trev and a mullet. I think I got the only one there! Ha ha

Might have a try with a nice shiny new lure tomorrow for some salmon?
