Yes Daiwa rod, really nice little rod, I bought it off someone on here but had to buy a cheap reel as I broke my other small one, having said that, the cheap little shimano is actually quite good!

Thanks, both rivers are awesome, it is about 1300 above sea level where I stay (mother in laws) and a bit lower for rivers but can get to Thomson, Jordan, Goulburn, Yarra etc fairly easily from there.

It was a great weekend but I learnt something VERY important about fishing......
If you drive down to the river with your pregnant partner, even if she has her waders with her, I would advise picking a spot that is not down a hill and I would strongly advise not saying: 'I will just walk upstream a bit, wont be long' and coming back in a few hours. Even if you have caught dinner it seems that this does not get fully appreciated and you may find yourself in a bit of trouble.....

Yeah it was in the Goulburn, no one was in it so could have been worse, still it looked like an expensive mistake. Happens a bit up there.
