Help with garfish
Hey guys just wondering if anyone is willing to let me know of some good gar fishing spots around port Phillip bay. I used to catch them at Barwon heads but not anymore. Any tips will be appreciated :cheers: :water:

Hey mate I believe some members have been having some luck in StLeonards for the Gar. Not fished for them before so can't help sorry

not sure of your location or boat or landbased if landbased just go and have a look at a couple of piers near you if you see lots of people with floats on there line fish there were i fish brighton,sandy and stkilda there is some good gars to be had and a great size this season

For land based try Griffin Gully Jetty in Geelong. Get a fine berley trail of bread crumbs going and use a small bubble or pencil float with size 8 long shank hook. You will need to adjust your bait to the depth the fish are feeding at.

Ive been struggling to get past the huge schools of mullet lately at Frankston, pretty frustrating

a tip for rig waggler float size 10 to 14 flyfishing hook and light leader berley only enough to keep them in the area
