Lake Eildon / Goughs Bay

Post by GONE FISHING » Mon May 02, 2016 10:57 pm

G'day fellow fishermen and women,

I am thinking about heading up to Goughs Bay next week. I'm mainly a Saltwater fisherman and only tried my hand at freshwater a handful of times, mainly trolling lures on lakes.

Has anyone fished this part of Lake Eildon and if so, what tips could you offer?

I will probably be fishing off a boat so was thinking trolling some stump jumpers or Tassie devils for either trout or cod.

Thoughts?

Cheers

GF

If I was going this weekend I would be trolling tassie devils and little xraps/minnow lures in the morning

Later on in the day I would trolling down deeper with a diwn rigger or something similar.

for the cod all the cod lures work good....anything you use in the murray works fine at eldion

May is a great time to fish eldion, you should have a good trip.

Cheers Mick, hope so. Was thinking of trolling early morning and then around lunchtime drifting and casting into snags.. I have a feeling I'll be losing quite a few lures so might stock up.

Do spinner baits work there also?
