Campaspe River Report

Post by Boonanza » Sun May 12, 2019 4:20 pm

I haven't been on much the last few months due to working 7 days a week since January so no fishing either but I did manage to go for a fish with the Boys. After seeing a couple of reports of the yellas going ok we decided to give the Campaspe a go. My sons were fishing with worms and yabbies and I tried spinners and soft plastics as well as some worms later in the day. The fishing was pretty hot most of the day with the boys landing 4 cracking yellas all around the 40cm mark. I only caught reddies with 1 going about 43cm I also caught about another dozen or so but most were only small and not photo worthy.

Good to see you get out Steve, it’s an under rated river the Campaspe, some nice fish there, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

It is underrated. I have done well walking the banks from the spillway towards Axedale. Reddies, yellows and of course carp.
Also done well at the weir at Elmore.

Cheers,
Mark.

I was at Elmore at Easter and all we got was two ‘orrible carp. You have absolutely smashed it. Well done.

Cracking Fish and Day.
Nice report and great to hear that the Campaspe is alive and well
