for a beginner fisherman - what type of setup would people suggest for catching a carp at TNA?

Start with a light/medium spin rod/reel. Ten pound mono or around that, running sinker rig and a light ball sinker. Smallish hook with worms or corn for bait. If/when you lose one of the big mothers, then you can upgrade! :-D

That's a cracker. As it warms up I am sure we will see more. In mildura at the moment...hoping to hit the water tomorrow and get my first 70 cm plus carp. But one back in Melbourne it will be back to TNA and the hunt for the colonel
