hi guys,
I am new to this hole fishing thing. Have just purchased a boat and are planning to go for a run tomorrow. Nothing serious just go out for an hour or so and see how she goes.
I was planning on putting the boat in a Patterson river around 11am and target flattys, I went to tackle world today and purchase some squidgies whip bait soft plastics and some 1/8 jig heads.
Was just wondering what depth to fish in and where about to go?
Cheers in advance

Re: Patterson river
Any good advice to fish around this time of the year at Patterson River land based?
Planning to give it a try there tomorrow.
What will we be able to target?
Is it tides dependent?
Hook size and baits used?
Thank you.

Re: Patterson river
if you havent used soft plastics before i would suggest you use a 1/4th jighead as a minimum.
and make sure your rod and line can cast this sized jighead.
as for how deep im not entierly sure.
i walays have some luck catching flathead at mornington, straight out the front from the pier in about 12m, they are all smaller sized fish, but always a few legals here and there.

Re: Patterson river
fishing for flathead keep your jighead /soft plastic hitting the bottom with small hops while reeling in
