When things go wrong! Ouch!

Post by LINwAd » Thu Jun 14, 2018 2:51 pm

Well I went to chase a native or two this past weekend at lake Mulawala. It was low but managed to get the kayaks in and then the boat below the wire later in the day. Didn't manage to get any fish and the next day it was raining. Mark went home and I continued my adventure alone walking the banks in a nearby area when I tried to jump up onto a lightly and fell down dislocating my shoulder. No fishing for me for a little while.

Had the GoPro rolling at the time. Be careful out there all!!

Dam mate that doesn’t sound too good!
Know how long you will be out of action for?

What are you doing mate!? You're supposed to cast at the snags, not climb all over them! especially when it's wet. That'll learn ya!

Thanks for sharing!

Cheers, Anth

I wanted to get out on it to cast in the submerged timber Infront of it and couldn't seem to get the right angle anywhere else. But you may of heard me say "why did I do that". I sometimes question my actions and this has definitely highlighted a few things to me.

Off work this week and no fishing for a little while, but I will be back out there soon enough.

We live we learn ;)

A lesson learned there LINwAd, have done the same thing myself a few times but lucky enough to only have hurt my pride..
Wet logs are a deadly thing to climb onto any time as they're as slippery as ever.
Do we learn by these mistakes.. only 50% of the time I reckon.. :-D Hope the shoulder heals up quickly for you mate..

cheers

Damn that would of hurt, I'm always wary of trouble when I'm out alone hence the reason why I now carry a PLB. Hope you get over it quickly, cheers davo.
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

That's not a good enough excuse to stop fishing. Change that handle over to the left side and get back out there!

It's all good mate. It add to the excitement and gives you a story to tell

As a man who has torn ligaments in both shoulders requiring surgery I feel your pain. You will find the kyak will come in handy when the pain subsides to build strength
