Warm weather brings on the action

Post by mazman » Thu Sep 13, 2018 2:40 pm

After studying all morning my mind was fried and I couldn't help looking outside to see the sun was out but it was a little blustery. I quickly made the call to hit the streams for the afternoon to escape the wind and make the most of the sunshine.
I only had a few hours of sunlight to play with so I went back to one of my favoured haunts to avoid wasting time trying to get access and so I knew my way back if I took longer than expected to work up river.

The warm weather had clearly made an impact as there was a few bugs about and after a bit of fishing I found the trout were much more willing to chase the little hardbody but were still a little shy of hitting it so it took a mixed retrieve to elicit a take.

The action was far from manic but I was putting fish on the board regularly enough and finished with 10 fish landed and a few others lost.

Thanks for reading, Alex

Nice report Alex! Is that the Daiwa jointed minnow? Whatever it is, have you used Rapala jointed lures as in , can you give a comparison between these and the Rapalas. Looks like these work well anyway.
cheers

Spot on for the lure Jim, haven't used the jointed Rapalas so can't give a direct comparison but I do much prefer the one piece daiwas to the CD and f Rapalas.

Cheers Alex
