Feels like I'm talking to Ron Jeremy...how did the new rod go?scott__henning wrote:Easier to fight with an overhead, (when you are harnessed up), but way easier to pitch livies with the spin, and when chasing a fish down its easier to keep up with winding.Mattblack wrote:What do you prefer...the new spin or an overhead?
With the harness adapter I’d say the spin will win for stripes.
I think for bigger fish (big blacks and blues) I’d definitely want the overhead though!
The arms were getting tired after 40 mins on the fish that’s for sure, and I didn’t go too heavy on the drag cod I knew that would tire me out quicker than the fish

Re: Tackle Porn
yeah the new rod is great, comfortable to hold and had plenty of power to move the fishMattblack wrote:Feels like I'm talking to Ron Jeremy...how did the new rod go?scott__henning wrote:Easier to fight with an overhead, (when you are harnessed up), but way easier to pitch livies with the spin, and when chasing a fish down its easier to keep up with winding.Mattblack wrote:What do you prefer...the new spin or an overhead?

Re: Tackle Porn
Picked up a few new setups for the coming season, cant wait to get em wet!.
Shimano Stella 8000SW, will go on a Ocea 701H
I had a Saragossa on this rod previously, but after using a mates stella the other day I thought why not eh, they are unbelievably smooth. 2x Shimano Talica 25's, spooled with 80lb hollow braid and 25kg topshot.
Matched with 2x Shimano Ultra 30-50 rods.
I'm replacing my Tiagra 50's with these setups, just about half the weight but have plenty of grunt for the South Coast Marlin.
