A Free Tinny & Motor

Post by Whiskers » Mon Oct 01, 2018 9:20 pm

I'm based in Orbost these days and I haven't had a boat in a long while but have recently been looking at getting a small tinny for fishing the Snowy and the Marlo Estuary system. A boat opens up a huge amount of water.

Out of the blue today I had an email from an old mate down in Melbourne. He has a 4 mtr. tinny and outboard (15hp) which he doesn't use any more and has just been sitting in a garage for the last few years.

He has offered it to me for free. Next time I get down to Melbourne all I have to do is pick it up.

It's no show pony but it'll do me a treat.

I reckon it qualifies as catch of the day!

Some great fishing on the estuary there. A boat will let you chase Taylor and Salmon down at the entrance and those bream around the islands.
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

How is the fishing up there at the moment Whiskers I have been thinking of slipping up that way for a long weekend in a couple of weeks.
