Silver trevally
Hi all,
This weekend I am going out Mornington Peninsula. I have always wanted to catch a silver trevally and have never had any joy when I target them, I have done a bit of research and found Sorrento goes alright with weightless baits and light fished plastics just wondering if this is the right time of year for them.
Cheers

It’s a fish I don’t usually target but have done well in the past from the queenscliff harbour mate. I know it’s not where you are heading but just thought it might be worth mentioning.

Seen some huge ones landed there too. The Barwon around the sheep wash area is another spot I have landed some big trevs

Re: Silver trevally
I usually get a couple trevs going for Whiting around sorrento. Even around the moored boats and marinas. Just burley up and use smaller bits of bait if bait fishing. Otherwise wriggle tail plastics around the moored boats and reefs should get you a few. Even setting a burley trail and casting plastics back into the burley trail would probably get you a few

Blairgowie, Sorrento, Portsea all get Trevally. Berley hard as mentioned and fish the trail
