Re: Trellys Daiwa Sale
I read this thread after checking out Trelly's in Shepparton this morning. Entered with intentions of buying...nothing! Walked out with a Daiwa Caldia 2500 for $150. It is the previous model (14?) I guess, not the latest 'LT' series. I am now rather annoyed with myself cos basically, I don't fkn need it! They also had a couple Luvias reels...3000 size or thereabouts. At $225 I thought that was reasonable. From what I saw, they were trying to clear some older models.

Re: Trellys Daiwa Sale
just goes to show you what these tackle shops mark up is, 50% off and they still make a profit on that, so any other time the mark up from wholesale would be around 150%+, good profit.

Been tempted to purchase a few rods in the sales but resisted temptation so far. Tracks your right there’s a fair mark up but don’t know the overheads.

These things don't sell like pan cakes. Many sit on storage for months or years collecting dust. Deduct the payroll, rent, etc. while these items are aging like fine wine and steak and you will realize there was little or no profit. This is why tackle shops are closing.
