Boat Insurance. Where? What? HOW?!
Hey guys,
What im after is full comp Boat insurance. Now I dont intend on smashing the boat into anything costly, but if i dont get full insurance, it will happen, sods law haha.
When looking through insurance, its giving me the option of Insuring it for 3rd party Damage of 100,000 increments and above,
Will I really need half a mill worth of cover?
Yes, i know some of you are looking at this post thinking, "Is this guy the full quid?", but its the first time insuring a boat, just want to be doing it correctly the first time, and think about it this way, if I run into you, you'll be thankful i have full comp.
Also, can anyone recommend any good Boating insurers?
Thanks for taking the time to read this
Phil

Re: Boat Insurance. Where? What? HOW?!
I'm with RACV and they seem to be pretty good. I insured my stacer for $4500 with 3 month layup for $175 but if I want to take the boat out during those 3 months then all have to do is ring and let them know and it's covered. I have had 3 boats over the last few years insured with them and they have always been the cheapest.
Cheers Steve

I'm with coastal insurance (a broker for club marine), costs me less than $30 per month to insure my 18K boat and full 3rd party with only $100 excess. I'd recommend them.

Im with club marine.
If you find a premium dealer like MY Marine on the peninsula you will always get a better rate.
Try for yourself, i had a quote and then went through dealer and it was heaps better.
