Fishing shows on Australian TV
Re: Fishing shows on Australian TV
Admittedly there's a few there that I've never seen but my 2 favorite's are Wicked Tuna and River Monster. I love Wicked Tuna for 1 reason, its when the camera goes onto the rod, right before a hook up, then SNAP, rod bends in half and screamsss out line.. Gets me excited every time, hehe.. & River Monster, even though I'm a salt water fisherman, i really enjoy the hunt to find a specific species, not just go out on a boat to the heart of a species and drop the line..

My top two by far are Fishing Edge (Lee Rainer) and Reel Action (Michael Guest). Neither of which are on the list...
Both of these shows are primarily interested in helping the viewer catch fish and go to the effort of explaining the rigs, techniques and reasons for doing what they're doing... as opposed to hysterical hype like some other iHype shows.
my 2c.

There are enough ads on tv already without the show your watching being a flatout advert too! In saying that though, I do respect the fact that they do need to do plugs for their sponsors. It's how they go about it that makes the show either a "winner", or simply "something to watch"....
Youfish gets my vote. It is informative, they target big fish (which is usually the way I play), they tell you all the theories they are working on, and they often get outstanding results! And, the plugs are minimal. Talking fishing is another show that I don't mind watching either. AFN is another good one.

I remember waiting all week for the next episode of 'Go Fish Australia' with John Meilon, rest his soul.

Good show but so repetitive after a while.. kings or snapper.. except for their O/S trips now and then.. I enjoy Andy's Fishing, just real in the moment fishing without pretense, and not a mega boat or heavy sponsorship in sight

That Andy’s fishing on channel 31 is a good one very basic just going out bush for a fish and camping no high end product but has a great sense of adventure

Snapper in shallow water on fly, that was a good episode i watched.
Yeah, quite good. Simple fishing, not much fancy stuff. Practical. Shows some tips tricks and techniques too.
I believe Adventure Bound by Lee Rayner is now Fishing Edge in channel 7?
