That's a ripper tailor, mate...
Cheers mate.
That one was caught during the night session. I was reeling in a salmon while my missus was reeling in that tailor :)

Nice catch mate, that is a good little spot when it is going off. Can be hit and miss with the pippies too, but they are a good feed when you get some
Too right about the pippies mate!
In the past I have always only kept them for bait but this time decided to try them for a feed. A simple cook up with some garlic, white wine and some salt and pepper. They were DELICIOUS :P

Great report lightning makes me want to rig up the surf rod and cast lures into the gutters.
Thanks mate :)
I never get sick of casting lures and getting that hit and you’re on!
You should give it a go. Now is a great time to be out there giving it a crack
Cheers.

Considering a few well renowned surf fishing beaches are right on my doorstep I should take advantage of it from time to time. They are a great fighting species the Aussie salmon.

Great catches, keepers. Both missus and those fish :-D
I'm planning to go there in couple weeks, which beach did you fish?
Or possibly I fish Gunnamatta beach.
Hi Seb,

Thanks mate we had more but we used them as fresh bait :)
Got plenty of smaller ones in the 25-30 cm range but let them go. I can catch plenty of those sizes ones just locally right now.
We fished from beach number 1. The first day we fished the night on the right side about 100 metres down and day 2 we fish on the left side, once you got down from the car park and fished probably about 500 metres up to get a quiet spot away from the surfers and others :)
Cheers.
