I read that they are water cooled, that makes sense at those RPM's the electric motor would be running very hot.
I wonder if a multi-speed gearbox would help ? I know they are in some electric motorcycles now.
Also virtually no maintenance, the motor is brushless, just gearbox oil to change and the occasional water pump, now if they could only make a maintenance free cost effective boat trailer !

As a V8 driver i do like big car engines, but an electric outboard does look like a great idea. If these were to become the norm i would definitely be on board.
The only thing better than serenity is a two stroke at full throttle!

Great idea just hope the outboards have the ability for long range trips without carrying too many batteries.

I think you will find for this to work properly it will have to be like the tesler it will have more than a thousend of them .
Just under the floor .
I would like to know the voltage and the current specs on this as a boat runs in the top end of the rev range unlike a car does at the bottom.

That outboard seems wild. And as technology gets better , , , , they are going to "wow" even more.
There are a few companies making electric boats from what I can see/find.
The Canadian Electric Boat Company is a bit Ol' School but I love the romance of those Boats

They look great.
Bring them on.
I want one.
My question is are they self recharging while running?
How long battery last at full revs?
How long does it take to recharge at home?
