No such thing as "trouts" Sebo, you must be referring to trout!
Add squids and salmons to that list as well!!!
Not to mention breams and carps!!!! Glad we sorted that out!

Good report RH! Any idea what fishing may be like from the bank?
Cheers
Jims
Whoopss I nevers passeds my englishs exams, thoughs beens heres for 16 years, stills cant tells whens to use plurals/singulars.

My logic : I caught two squidsss, because it's more than one squid! Hence plural and add 'S' !!
Obviously I've been wrong lol

Back to the topic, I am still trying to figure out how to troll a lure into 5-10 meter in a lake on a kayak. No lures dive that deep. Not that I've checked.

Haha, you're a good sport Seb! You're not the first, and certainly won't be the last mate. (Seriously though, it does do my head in, lol.)

Small lures that dive to 5m are available, but I don't know of any that dive 10m plus. For example, Rapala jointed shad raps (one of my favourite reddie lures). The 7cm one dives to 4.5m, and the 9cm one dives to 5.5m. I'm sure there'd be others available.

Yes Jim, bank fishing can be rewarding there. It has its moments. It can also be a lake of a thousand casts too! Haha.

Check the pol50 XXD. They dive to 8m+

This colour could be good.

Ditto Carman, bit of pleasant banter, no offence and points well taken.
A refreshing change from some of the stuff that was creeping in a cupla months ago.

I’ve got the bottom green also, that’s how I knew there was something out there that got to at least 8m.

Haha 16 years and still learning. I don't mind admitting mistakes, can be hard to some people, but hey that's how we learn right...
Does this do your head in too, your and you're? Eg. Your a good man! :-D

Oh, I shall look at that 9cm rapala. Trolling 5.5m in 10m water should be okay.

Thanks Brett, I saw this the other day at Hooked on Bait and Tackle in Hoppers Crossing, but the bigger size I think. I thought, it looked more like a cod lure. I checked again, there's a smaller size which is the one on your photo I think and still goes to 8m. Might get some and try.

Seb, you don't necessarily need depth for trout at this time of year dude. Trout prefer colder water. During the warmer months, they head deep to the cooler water as soon as the sun hits it, and may not feed again until the sun disappears over the horizon. 1st and last light are your number 1 bite times. However, at this colder time of year, trout can feed happily throughout the day with surface temps being much more comfortable.

What I was/am doing is running a spread of 4 lures. Tassies or double clutches on 2 aiming for trout, and 2 deeper divers aiming for redfin. I'm trying to cover all bases ;)
