New Member in Lakes Entrance
Hi All,
I’ve been lurking here for a while now gathering information about fishing and boating and decided it was time to sign up and start contributing where I can.
I moved to Lakes Entrance from Melbourne a bit over a year ago having bought a little holiday accommodation business in Lakes Entrance to run with my wife. I’ve always enjoyed fishing from the time I was a kid but haven’t got out as much as I would like. Since moving to Lakes I’ve done mainly surf fishing at Eastern Beach with mixed results and also joined the Gippsland Lakes Angling Game & Sports Fishing Club, and been on a couple of fishing charters.
My brother in-law has just bought a 6m boat so I am hoping to get offshore semi regularly and the search for the location of the reefs out of Lakes is what ultimately drew me to this forum (thanks re-tyred). I’m hoping to get out and get some pinkies on the reef before they all disappear this season.
Cheers

It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Re: New Member in Lakes Entrance
Welcome I am away for the winter. Will be back fishing in October. If you need info regarding the reef area just message me. Pinkies are usually good till mid August then it gets a bit tough till the water warms up
Big fish appear around that 15-16 deg temp. They usually turn up first on the western reefs in November then out the front after Xmas. They go deeper out the front when the water temp is in the low 20s.

There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.
