going down mornington again

Post by e.welch » Fri Aug 16, 2019 8:22 am

hi, I was wondering if the garfish were still around Mornington or if they had moved of also would it be worth a try of the small jetty for some whiting?
any tips would be greatly appreciated me and my uncle are going down there on Saturday and are hopping to catch something for my sister bday party.

Not sure about garfish, but usually if you burley hard, they'll come.
Potentially whiting might come along too.
There's always squid usually.

Honestly can’t remember if it was around this time of the year but seen them from the end in the left hand corner casting diagonally towards the moored boats.

Whiting are there, got a few last week but you need to go early/late. They stop biting during the daytime. Not as many around as June though
