Is it for rivers or lakes? Strike Pro have a big range of hardbodies that are under $20

Heaps of options. Do a quick google search and it's endless.
I don't even know where to start.

As above theres tons of options for trout but if you're trying to be budget conscious small paddle tail plastics are a great and versatile option. For stocked trout 2-2.5" is a good size, I usually use 2.5s and cut a bit off the head. Something like a zmam slim swim or berkley ttail. Match them up with a size 1 1/12oz jighead and you're off. Its worth having 1/16 and 1/8 as well depending on the exact scenario

Your best bet is to get some spinners as it would suit your newly purchased rod and reel with mono line a lot better than hard bodies or soft plastics.

If you want to buy hards then the tsunami super trout won't break the bank and available at anaconda or big w

Rapalas and Tassie Devils are great for impoundments.
