Hey Legends.
Just getting into a bit of surf fishing after being a long time fly fisher. Was wondering what people use for a general knife for cutting up bait etc. Do you just by a decent kitchen knife that you can look after or is it worth getting a specific fishing brand knife. Don’t need a fillet knife, I’m just after an all purpose one.
Cheers,
Coaster

Re: General Fishing Knife
I use a scissor. No need for a cutting board.

Yeah, agreed with the comments above.
A cheap Kmart stainless pairing / utility knife and stainless scissors and you're set.

If you're feeling fancy - Bahco Mora, about $15 from tool shops.
But as others said, it doesn't matter, and shears / scissors are practical.
