New ride
After 20+ years of open alloy boats I've finally succumbed to bone-jarring, cold, wet rides and have crossed over to the light-side with this 470 breeze. I recently sold my Quintrex Renegade and came very close to pulling the pin on a brand new 490wr Barcrusher but then saw this little HH at a local yard for a good price and seeing it was in such good nick and very low hours went for it. So far I've upgraded the trailer and she's going in tomorrow for a re-power to a Suzuki DF90. Future plans include a new sounder/gps, anchor winch and a decent bait board, it's going to be a bit of a long term project and fitting her out should be a lot of fun.

Re: New ride
No, I had a look at one and they offered me a test in a 490c before I changed my mind, they're meant to ride ok but the Haines will be better into chop as it's heavier and deeper, you sit in it, not on it like the little BC. It has a canopy which is ok but I will get a bimini & clears eventually. The 90 Suzy will push it along easily with the family on board and weighs the same as both the 70 & 80 so may as well go for the max hp.

Re: New ride
No comparison between the Haines and the Backcrusher. Enjoy it, you won't know yourself after years of coke cans
Re: New ride
Mr T, you won me over just on that sentence , , , , family  . What it's all about. Hope you and the family get great enjoyment out of her. only ever had cabin-ed boats, raised my kids with boating and Cabins are the best.

Lots of fun alright, personalising the boat and decking her out Trumpeter Style, and I agree about seeing it as a long term project. Think and rethink till it's right in your mind then do it.
Add me to "The jealous as" list.
Cheers, Bugatti
Oh, one thing I have on my boat that I think would look awesome on your boat , , , , me
