What's your lifejacket of choice?
Hi folks
I'm thinking of updating my lifejackets
As I like my fishing I prefer the yoke style as they aren't bulky and don't get in the way ... although the jacket type has advantages too and probably a tad easier to get on.
I've come across this type which I'm interested in. They offer a bit more buoyancy but don't appear any bulkier than other yokes
Has anyone tried the Crewfit 165n Sport?

Cheers

Re: What's your lifejacket of choice?
i have that exact model and chose it for the same reasons you have.
smallest available footprint when worn, and also some extra bouyancy.
they are a bit heavier when compared to most other commercially available ones, but very comfortable to use.
they are not the cheapest, but defenitely worth the $$$
i trialled the marlin slimline pfd as well which is also genuinely slimline, but not as comfortable as the crewsaver.
i bought this one so its not obstructive when throwing lures around which is 99% of my my style of fishing.

Do they have to be serviced every year or every second, can you do it yourself. I have a yoke one for on my yak and when fishing by myself locally but I have a stormy full jacket it’s auto and manual with built in winch strap, for offshore work

the stormy PFD also has a very slimline model worth a look as well.

All my jackets are Marlin manual inflatable models. I service them myself each year, just before summer usually. And throw them out after 5 years (once you run out of lines on the service record). I pick up new ones when i can get them on sale ($50 at BCF or Whitworths).
