Continuing the donut trend - spent about 3-4 hours on the pier today lol. Fished from about 2PM-6PM with a break between because the tide/current was running hard.
In regards to the running tide, try an extra 'chin' sinker attachment on the jig; it works well as at Portsea and Sorrento when the tide is running.
Good luck next time
WOW
Chin sinkers , , , , by the chinny chin chin, never heard of them
On the Boat, for the put-down squid rod I normally put on a bean sinker on the line, if the tide or drift is too fast. But with running a swivel at the end of the line to interchange squid jigs, it affects the movement of the Jig. I have noticed I catch a lower proportion of Squid on the put-down rod if it has a bean sinker on the line. It gets the Squids attention but often not the grab , , , , to link another post, with polarised glasses, you can see if a Squid is being tentative with the beaned Jig and and so I drop my casting Jig down and "pluck"
Thanks AE092 :notworthy: , the Chinnys are on my "to buy and try list" now.
Cheers, Bugz
