Lower sections died down lot with rain and drop in temp. still relatively clear-ish (for plenty that is) after the rain(s). Carp in normal holding spots, feeding off the bottom mostly. Some tailers, not much action. Spooky as at present. But at least they've stopped spawning. And the cooler weather ...

Tenkara rods are really designed for smaller fish Most are only rated to 5x tippet. For Carp, you normally need more stopping power. I've found that a keiryu rod or specialty carp rod is better, but expensive. A cheap alternative I've used and still do is to use a crappie pole, eg Cabelas telescopic...

found 'em. in both diamond and plenty today. sight fished to them in holes that last weekend were quiet. scared a dozen more in each hole where I hooked them. used a salt fly rod and black nymph, which they chased.

yep, that bay and the one either side are solid lure graveyards. lots of timber for the unwary lure angler. there are fish there and they seem to move up the water column on dusk. they seem to be staying on the "down low" during the bright part of a hot day. lots of foot traffic, noise, vibrations, ...

diamond creek
has anyone had any success in diamond creek lately? I walked it today in the likely spots and couldn't see any carp sign - surely they haven't all left! maybe it's just too cold to move them ?
