Re: Land Based Pier Fishing Cart Setup
I'm a cheapskate. I use an old pull along golf trolley with the wide solid wheels. ( $2.oo from the opshop). This makes it practical to use on the beach too without the wheels digging into the sand. A large plastic box fits nicely where a golf bag would normally go and the buggy even has a seat. Rod...

Re: Corona virus part 2
Attached to this post is a photo of part of a document published by the American Society For Microbiology in 2007.
I wasn't able to copy it other than by saving it as a photo.
Please note the comments highlighted in yellow.
Now, 13 years later, the time-bomb has exploded.
Who is to blame?

Re: How do you have your Coffee?
Very happy with instant coffee. Nescafé blend 43 is my preference but I’m a bit partial to International Roast. I don’t let this information get out usually because people treat you differently if you drink instant coffee, so I choose to stay in the closet. 2 sugars with a pinch of milk. I'm with T...

Re: Mulloway in East gippsland
[Reports are rare and wondering if that's an indication of this fish's population.] No. I could tell you but then I'd have to kill you. ;-) [Also, where is the best bet for salmon atm? And have they truly moved in?] Plenty of salmon. Pick a surf beach. Any beach. The fish are there. Lures or bait,i...

Salmon Mayhem
Today was a red letter day for salmon. Due to road closures since New Year making beach access very difficult along the East Gippsland coast there has been very little fishing pressure on the beaches. I fished Point Ricardo this morning, from first light until about 10.00 a.m (high tide), with four ...

Re: Tell me about fishing for gars
Maggots are good bait for gars, but as you've found out, supplies can be difficult to source. There are two alternatives. The first is to breed your own. Easy to do but if you're in surburbia and have neighbours with sensitive noses it's not going to make you too popular. :oo: The second alternative...

Re: Fingers crossed for you east gippy..
Thanks for peoples concern. It has been a bit hairy here for a while now. Monday was a bad day here in Orbost, blood red smoke filled skies all day and by 6pm it was already dark. At 6.30 Orbost lost power and it only came back on a little while ago. The town was surrounded by fire and those of us w...

Re: Snowy River Entrance @ Marlo
"Whiskers is the closing of the entrance now a common occurrence? Have projects that have dammed the water midway through last century caused 50years of unnatural sand build up? " You've hit the nail right on the head. The damming of the Snowy and water diversion to the Murray has seen the flow rat...
