Yes, am going back. Unfinished business there. Possibly early December depending on work and the minister of war and finance.

Re: Portland - 13/10 - AM - The trip where I almost cried
Got back last night after 3 days at Portland. Fished the Lee several times day and night, without much success. A side note to this, is the traffic on this break wall during daylight hours is incredible. You have to look both ways before you can lean back and cast out. Got yakking to a fella from Po...

Portland bait drowning trip.
Am heading down to Portland tomorrow for 4 days to escape these bloody renos. Land based only. Break wall at Portland an obvious location but was wondering if there are any other locations Members could suggest? Love rock fishing, not against estuary either. Am bringing a full bag of clubs including...

Re: Gummy tips and help.
Have not tried this method myself, but have heard of people dipping their baits in Kero to ward of the lice. Old Greek bloke I used to know reckons he used this method with good results. Anyone else here heard of this tactic. I am a bit sceptical to be honest.

Re: how many rods landbased fishing
I run maximum two. I hate pier fishing for this very reason. Not to mention when people turn up quite often they camp right next to you and how many times do they cast their line right over yours.

Hi Redhunter, funny thing is the Mrs doesn't mind when I go hunting. Especially when you bring home some venison. It's not about bringing home meat, it's all about pitting your wits against the deer and doing so ethically. I can stalk for hours, not see a thing and thoroughly enjoy myself at the sam...

Go for the "S" Series with the slant 6 and push button auto, hard to kill, cheap to fix.

Re: Newbie.
Gav, Many a time have been looking for deer sign near a stream and have seen trout. It's a bit hard to cast with a rifle! One of the spots I frequent I am going to bring a collapsible rod in my back pack for that exact scenario. Funny thing is, if you aint spooking the trout, you are generally not s...

Hi everyone. Am getting back into fishing after a long hiatus. Am madly restringing reels and blowing dust and cobwebs of my gear. Went out the other day down to the Ocean Rd and realised what I had been missing out on. Got a few Mullet and small salmon. Got to start somewhere I guess. Noticed the P...
