Such a vibrant and alive website this one. sounds like a quiet comp fishing wise but the avaerage size seems to be pretty good

You have to pin both hooks but you need to do a sliding snell knot

The reason you lost that fish is because you need to use a second sliding snell hook to the set up. You should always use the 2 hooks similar to snapper fishing. Having only one hook will result in you losing half the fish in the battle

Get yourself a hand held fish finder for a start. They are very good and can help a lot when fishing a new spot. Other than that, I try to avoid anything Daiwa. I second that,couple years ago bought a Daiwa egg rod and about 2months later it just snapped while casting the lure so no more Daiwa for ...
